9 Things Guests Won’t Want to Miss This Summer at Disneyland Resort

It’s summertime! And at the Disneyland Resort, that means there is so much to do, so much to see and so many awesome experiences Guests won’t want to miss! Take a look at this list and be sure Guests catch the limited-time offerings while they’re still here!

1. See the Nighttime Spectaculars!

Lighting up summer nights in Disneyland Park are the “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, both of which are ending their limited-time runs on Sept. 1, 2022. “Main Street Electrical Parade” is celebrating its 50th anniversary of magical pageantry, featuring an all-new grand finale float. “Disneyland Forever” fireworks is a mesmerizing mix of Disney storytelling, jaw-dropping visual effects and breathtaking pyrotechnics. “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland Park and “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure Park will continue their regular schedules.

2. Ride the Red Car Trolley!

Hop aboard! The Red Car Trolley has returned with scenic rides along Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land, with four stops in Disney California Adventure Park. Modeled after the trolleys that crisscrossed more than 1,000 miles of Los Angeles track from 1887 until 1961, the Red Car Trolley is reminiscent of when Walt Disney first arrived in California in 1923.

3. Go on an Ocean Adventure in Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Take a heartwarming expedition under the sea and see friends from Pixar’s “Finding Nemo,” featuring an all-new character to the attraction – the septopus Hank from “Finding Dory.” This Disneyland attraction just reopened and has been revitalized with vibrant color, 3,000 pieces of coral, fresh kelp and 12,000 linear feet of seaweed, plus new lighting, projections and enhanced special effects. Did you know: the original Submarine Voyage debuted June 14, 1959!

4. Join in a Soulful Celebration

Celebrate Soulfully, which celebrates Black heritage and culture through music, food and art, has several entertainment offerings extended through Sept. 5, 2022! The Hollywood Backlot in Disney California Adventure Park becomes a summer block party nightly, where Guests can groove to live musical acts playing genres from doo-wop and Motown to funk and reggae. In the Downtown Disney District, Guests can check out “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” Exhibit, and discover the rich history of jazz featuring the beloved characters from Disney and Pixar’s “Soul.” This exhibit is complimentary and adjacent to Star Wars Trading Post. Also in the district, stop for a snack at Black-owned food trucks during this limited time.

5. Watch the Disneyland All-American College Band

They’re amazing! Guests can’t help but get jazzed watching and listening to the Disneyland All-American College Band presented by Yamaha, an energetic, talented group of 21 musicians from 13 colleges and universities from around the country who perform at Disneyland Park, now through Aug. 12, 2022. A Disneyland tradition since 1971, this summer program is celebrating 50 years of performances!

6. Encounter Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers Campus

Attention recruits! Guests never know which Super Heroes they may spot roaming Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure park. Guests just might meet Mighty Thor and test their worthiness with Mjolnir, see Spider-Man swinging high above the WEB building, explore the mystic arts with Doctor Strange in the Ancient Sanctum or train alongside the elite Wakandan guards, the Dora Milaje.

7. Travel to Black Spire Outpost

While living their own adventures in a galaxy far, far away at Star WarsGalaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park, Guests may come across familiar faces on the planet of Batuu. Heroes of the Resistance including Rey, Chewbacca and Vi Moradi might be spotted around the Black Spire Outpost, or they may see Boba Fett and Fennec Shand strolling the outpost as well.

Or, Guests may encounter a contingent of First Order Stormtroopers who join Kylo Ren setting out from the TIE Echelon starfighter at Docking Bay 9, patrolling the area.

8. Navigate the Wild Waters of Grizzly Peak

Embark on a thrilling whitewater raft adventure at Grizzly River Run in Disney California Adventure Park, where Guests float down a lazy river, spin through a raging current, and pass gushing geysers and thundering waterfalls before arriving back at base camp. Perfect for a summer day!

9. Swim Into Summer Pool Parties!

Splish and splash at the new, super fun summer pool parties happening daily for Disneyland Resort Hotel guests, now through Aug. 31, 2022! Our Disney poolside squad is on deck at all three hotels leading games and playing high-energy dance music, as Disney pals stop by to join in the fun! As an overnight Guest of a Disneyland Resort Hotel, they can also take advantage of exclusive benefits such as early entry into the parks a half hour before the general public daily to enjoy select attractions, dining and shopping, beginning August 8, 2022.*
