Anyone missing Magical Express?
We sure are! The free shuttle from Orlando International Airport to and from Walt Disney Resorts is no more.
I have searched and read and read some more for what options we have now for airport transportation.
Here is what I found! (so far)
Quicksilver Tours and Transportation
This is a personal favorite! We love this service. The cost of this service is ~$110+ (up to 4 passengers) for a one way and ~$210+ for roundtrip. All gate fees and tolls are included in the price.
Also included in the cost
-Meet and greet
-Luggage assistance
-20 minute grocery stop
-Carseats and boosters
Mears is a shuttle very similar to Magical Express, but with a price! As of now, a round trip
For a standard reservation will cost you $32/adult and $27/child. For the express option you’re looking at $250 for 4 passengers and $55 for each additional person. Tolls and gate fees are included.
You will board Mears Connect in Terminal B, on level 1, ground transportation level, at Orlando International Airport – the previous Disney space. Look for the Mears Connect reception area. On your return trip, you will board Mears Connect at your resort, just ask the front desk personnel where Mears Connect picks up at your hotel.
There is a standard service described as a shared service with monitored wait time and limited stops and an express option described as limited wait time and direct shared service.
Carseats are not provided or required on their vehicles. If you happen to get a van and prefer a carseat, you will have to provide your own. If you get a motor coach, they will store the seat in the storage compartment. There is no way to know which you be on until you arrive.
The Sunshine Flyer’s buses will bring you and your family from Orlando Airport to Walt Disney World® Resorts on a late model, premium motorcoach with a theme centered around old-fashioned passenger cars and train locomotives.
Take the train from your aircraft gate and you will arrive on Level 3 of the Main Terminal Building. Proceed to Terminal B and take the elevator or escalator down to Level 1. Baggage claim is located on Level 2.
At this time the Sunshine Flyer offers round trip airport shuttles $34/adult and $25/child. Tolls and gate fees are included.
Carseats are not provided or required on their vehicles. If you bring your own, they will store the seat in the storage compartment. Each seat has a 3 point harness seatbelt. Children can ride on parents laps or in their own seat.
At this time, The Sunshine Flyer does not operate from 10pm to 7am.
Uber/Lyft
Lyft and Uber are some of the most popular options for airport transportation. It’s on demand and you have the privacy of traveling with your own party. All you have to do is download the app and request the appropriate option for you. They offer a range from compact cars to SUV’s.
The cost of using Uber or Lyft varies depending on vehicle, time of day and time of year. It can range anywhere from $25 to $135+. Tolls and gate fees are included.
Carseats are provided with some of these options. You will be able to easily see if one is provided and see where to request one.

There is an app you can download to find the lowest rates. It’s called “Obi.”
Rental Car
Renting a car can be the perfect option for people wanting to see more of Orlando than just Disney. Orlando is full of fun things to do. There are a number of options for car rentals, Alamo, budget, hertz. Our favorite to rent from is Turo.
Prices fro renting a car varies due to type and length of time you will have the car. Cost can be $100 -$300+. You would of course be responsible for your gas, tolls, and any parking.
Some companies offer carseats for a daily rental fee.
Taxi
Taxi service is of course an option and wouldn’t require a reservation. This can cost you $50+ just one way. Tolls and gate fees are included.
Carseats are sometimes available. You would just need to ask.
Private Car Service
There are several private service options in Orlando. This is a fun option and there are many different kinds of vehicles you’d ride in. Some even offer meet and greet where they will meet you in the airport and help you with your bags.
Some of these include Reserve Transfer, Happy Limo, Ultimate Town Car and more!
This of course comes with a higher cost, $60-$70 and up from there. Tolls and gate fees are included.
Carseats can be requested, some are free and some are at an extra cost.
These prices do not include gratuity. Typically you will tip $1-2 per bag for motor coach services, and 10% – 20% for all other services.
